Overview
This is one of the few services I offer to other composers. After years of performing in instrumental and vocal ensembles I found myself working with professional and semi-professional orchestras during my time in Los Angeles. It was during this time that I had the fortune of studying conducting with the superbly talented Eimear Noone while conducting the Symphony 47 Orchestra. There, I worked on classic great works like Mahler’s Titan Symphony and Strauss’s Til Eulenspiegel.
I also conducted the ensemble in an original work of my own and some other film music classics like Star Trek and Hook. Later during my years in LA I worked with conducting expert Angel Velez and orchestrator/composer Conrad Pope during a week-long tour of Bulgaria in which I received top-notch conductor training while rehearsing my own original work with a professional orchestra. With all this training and experience, I feel more than confident stepping up to a podium and getting the best take possible at a session, understanding that time is money and clear and concise communication is essential.
Conducting Excerpts
PACIFIC NW FILM SCORING PROGRAM - STUDIO X, SEATTLE 2012
VOYAGE OF THE DREAMWEAVER BASED ON THE MUSIC OF ALAN SILVESTRI
PERFORMED BY MEMBERS OF THE SEATTLE SYMPHONY
This was my first foray into conducting a large professional studio orchestra. I am immensely proud of this final composition for the Pacific NW Film Scoring Program and I think I did good job keeping my cool on the podium even though the nerves were real.
LOS ANGELES FILM CONDUCTING INTENSIVE - RUSE, BULGARIA 2017
FROM THE ASHES BASED ON A SCENE FROM FANTASIA 2000
This was an experience in conducting a professional orchestra I will not soon forget. Not only did I get to work with an orchestra on an original work of mine, but I also was able to rehearse with the ensemble for the better part of a week and learn to communicate my musical intentions with a language barrier to make it a bigger challenge.
